BEAVERTON, Ore.-For the love of base stations of the cdma2000 variety, Tektronix Inc. has rolled out its Option CD2 software for third-generation testing.
“Option CD2 enables field crews to efficiently carry out their cdma2000 measurements with just one portable tool, and network operators already using the YBT250 can save money by simply adding the option to their existing instruments,” said Johannes Schaedel, vice president, mobile business unit.
The tool is cost effective because it saves the technician the trouble of using many tools, said Eben Jenkins, the company’s general manager.
He said it also costs a fraction of the current base station analyzers and this speeds the measurement process. It weighs 12 pounds and is therefore portable and rugged, he added.
These virtues allow the tool to maintain complex networks efficiently, and its features include a full set of signal quality measurements, pilot and code domain power measurements, codograms.
