BUENOS AIRES, Argentina—During this year’s first semester, the BellSouth branch in Chile obtained a higher growth rate than the company’s average in Latin America. With a 66-percent increase in quantity of clients in regards to the same period in the previous year, surpassing BellSouth’s 43 percent average in the region.
BellSouth had 7,9 million subscribers at the end of June in 11 Latin American countries, 800,000 of these were in Chile. Sales in the region, during the first semester amounted to US$744 million while the EBITDA increased by 34 percent reaching US$244 million.
