STOCKHOLM, Sweden—Stockholm-based Columbitech began a full-scale commercial launch 28 September in Europe of its wireless virtual private network (VPN) product, which allows mobile device users to access their corporate databases quickly and securely and also permits them to roam between wireless Internet Protocol (IP) networks.
The company, founded by a development team from Ericsson, has been beta testing the network-agnostic Columbitech VPN with 15 companies this year. The technology currently works only in a Microsoft environment.
