NEW YORK—Stockholm-based Columbitech began a full-scale commercial launch Sept. 28 in Europe of its wireless virtual private network product, which allows mobile device users to access their corporate databases quickly and securely and also permits them to roam between wireless Internet Protocol networks.
The company, founded by a development team from L.M. Ericsson, has been beta testing the network-agnostic Columbitech VPN with 15 companies since spring. At present, the technology works only in a Microsoft environment.
