LAS VEGAS-Microsoft Corp., along with its hardware and software partners, unveiled prototypes for its new computing device, the Tablet PC.
The device, which the company has discussed before, features pen and speech capabilities for input along with the processor speed and display of a desktop personal computer. Bill Gates, chairman and chief software architect for Microsoft, showcased several new Tablet PCs during his keynote at Comdex Fall 2001. Gates also outlined the Tablet PC’s support for wireless connectivity.
