WASHINGTON—The Department of Justice and Black Crow Wireless LP both signed the NextWave settlement papers on Tuesday.
Congress is expected to shortly take up implementing legislation.
A bankruptcy court must also approve the settlement.
The NextWave settlement, announced on Nov. 16, would resolve the litigation surrounding the PCS C- and F-block licenses of bankrupt NextWave Telecom Inc. by ceding the licenses to the winners of the re-auction which concluded earlier this year. The settlement calls for the government to receive more than $10 billion and NextWave nearly $6 billion from the re-auction winners.
