ALEXANDRIA, Va.—The Personal Communications Industry Association’s (PCIA) Site Owners and Managers Alliance (SOMA) announced it has formed the SOMA Technology Committee, which will promote effective communications and an understanding of technologies and service-related issues concerning the future of the tower industry.
“The technology behind the critical infrastructure that supports wireless services is moving very, very quickly,” said Dave Snyder, chief technology officer of Crown Castle and chairman of the committee. “And in today’s economic environment where analysts’ input and evaluation are so critical to the financial success of entire industries, the activities of this group are necessary to ensure that both the tower industry and the financial community have clear, open lines of communication and that the value of our industry is effectively conveyed to Wall Street.”
The committee is now working to produce a glossary of definitions and terms and a frequently asked questions document, which it plans to complete in early 2002 and circulate to the financial community.
