BERWYN, Pa.-Triton PCS Holdings Inc. entered into a definitive agreement with Ntelos Inc. to acquire personal communications services licenses in Charlottesville and Winchester, Va.
The transaction includes a 10 MHz C-block license for the Charlottesville Basic Trading Area covering approximately 215,000 people and a 10 MHz C-block license for the Winchester BTA covering approximately 158,000 pops.
Ntelos said the sale would not affect its customers or operations in the area as the carrier will continue to own and operate 20 MHz of spectrum in each of the markets.
The sale is expected to close by the middle of next year.
