STOCKHOLM, Sweden—Ericsson AB said it has licensed its handset technology to LG Electronics of Korea for 2.5 generation and UMTS.
“The agreement gives a boost to the 3G handset market and is the second agreement for Ericsson Mobile Platforms, with Sony Ericsson as the first customer,” said Tord Wingren, president of Ericsson mobile platforms.
