CALGARY—Wi-Lan said it is participating in Wi-Comm Communications, a joint venture in Beijing, created to accelerate Wi-Lan’s penetration into the Chinese market.
Wi-Lan said it granted Wi-Comm a nonexclusive license to manufacture and sell Wi-Lan products in China in exchange for a 20-percent equity stake in Wi-Comm and royalties on Wi-Comm’s sales.
Wi-Comm Communications is 51-percent owned by Ray Scientific and Technology Development of China, 20-percent owned by Wi-Lan and 29-percent owned by Wincomm Communications.
