MUNICH, Germany—Siemens AG said its earnings for the fiscal first quarter increased from the fiscal fourth quarter of 2001, and its handset division returned a profit
Siemens will officially report earnings next week, at which time the company is expected to announce it reached its goal of selling about 9 million handsets in the fiscal first quarter.
The company also announced it won an order from Deutsche Telekom for 2 million handsets. Further details of the deal were not disclosed.
BEIJING, China – InterDigital Communications said it has been elected as a member at large and council member of the TD-SCDMA Forum, China’s proprietary wireless air interface technology.
The forum has over 300 members including operators, vendors, research institutes, educational services and standards bodies.
