BEIJING—China’s two mobile-phone operators, China Mobile and China Unicom, have reached an agreement to let users of one network send short messages to users of the other network.
The operators will first launch the service in Beijing, Shanghai and Jilin Province by 10 February. The service will be expanded throughout the whole of China by 1 May.
