NEW ORLEANS—The Reynolds and Reynolds Co. entered an agreement with Hewlettt-Packard Co. to deliver a telematics vehicle lifecycle management solution, which will consist of hardware, software and service components that aim to improve customer service, lower costs and increase vehicle safety.
The initial offer will feature an on-board telematics appliance from Networkcar Inc. called CaReader. CaReader continuously monitors and wirelessly transmits a vehicle’s electrical, mechanical and emissions systems data, as well as the vehicle’s location to the automotive dealer.
HP is Reynold’s preferred supplier.
Participating dealers will begin selling the initial VLM solution on Feb. 1, Reynolds and Reynolds said.
