EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands—Royal Philips Electronics said it has successfully concluded a trial of its solution for the delivery of multimedia content and applications over wireless networks using Verizon Wireless’ Express Network data service as a test platform.

The company said the trial consisted of the transmission of live audio and video streams along with pre-encoded content and next generation interactive multimedia applications designed for the mobile environment. The multimedia capabilities are based on the ISO-compliant MPEG-4 open standard codec.
