OKLAHOMA CITY, United States—Dobson Communications completed a previously announced sale of four wireless licenses and related operations in California, Georgia, Ohio and Tennessee to Verizon Wireless for approximately US$465 million.
The sale included California RSA No.7 covering approximately 147,000 potential customers; Georgia RSA No. 1 covering approximately 50,000 pops; Ohio RSA No. 2 covering approximately 260,000 pops; and Tennessee RSA No. 4 covering approximately 290,000 pops. The Tennessee license was the property of American Cellular, a joint venture between Dobson and AT&T Wireless.
Dobson said it plans to complete the sale of its interest in Arizona RSA No. 5 to Verizon Wireless covering 200,000 pops within the next 30 days.
