CANNES, France—Motorola Inc. made several announcements at this week’s 3GSM World congress in Cannes, France.
The company announced its partnership with CH2M Hill, a network delivery service provider. According to Motorola, the alliance will provide telecom operators with flexible, timely and cost-effective network solutions that will speed deployment of next-generation networks. “Together, Motorola and CH2M Hill will provide the network rollout capability and capacity to meet the needs of operators as they build, enhance or migrate to next-generation networks,” said Michael Krutz, general manager of Motorola GTSS’ Network Services Organization for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region—the initial area of focus for the partnership.
Motorola also announced it signed a cooperative agreement with China Mobile to begin a third-generation business service dimensioning research project in China. The companies plan to research possible services and their characteristics on China’s future 3G networks to find the most cost-effective network solutions for the market, as well as to discover service behavior patterns and wireless network resource consumption.
Finally, Motorola announced that its Global Telecom Solutions Sector (GTSS) has made a customized Network Support Program available in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. NSP is one part of the company’s Lifecycle Services, Software and Systems Integration efforts, which also include GPRS System Simulation and Modeling Service (GSMS) and Motorola’s Intelligent Optimization Service (IOS), now offered in the EMEA region.
