LONDON—Vodafone Group subsidiary Vodafone Global Products and Services signed an agreement with Siemens to supply a global location enabling server platform allowing Vodafone and third parties to create location-enabled applications.
Vodafone said the service will support customers when roaming and allow them to control the identification of their location by choosing how, when and whether they may be located by applications.
The service is currently rolling out in the United Kingdom and Germany with plans to expand to other European Vodafone operators during the next few months.
