DALLAS—In what might trigger a series of monster consolidations in the wireless equipment space, Motorola Inc. and Nortel Networks are in talks to merge their network divisions, according to a report by Business Week Magazine.
Both companies may be considering the merger option, given the lion’s share of contracts already secured by Nokia Corp. and Nortel Ericsson, according to analysts.
