BIRMINGHAM, United Kingdom—Smart-phone maker Sendo announced it teamed with Tao Group to include Java technology in the company’s new Z100 smart phone.
The move is especially interesting because Sendo is the first device maker to use Microsoft’s Smart Phone 2002 operating system, and Microsoft is in a heated competition with Sun Microsystems Inc., the company behind Java technology.
“This agreement emphasizes Sendo’s core commitment to offer operators and consumers mobile devices and services, which are flexible and have a high level of personalization,” said Hugh Brogan, Sendo’s chief executive officer.
