DENVER, United States—U.S. vendor Interwave Communications announced that Bell Benin Communications, a new mobile operator in Benin, has purchased US$1.8 million of Interwave’s equipment and services for the initial phase of a nationwide GSM cellular network. When completed, the network will extend from the capital city of Cotonou, to the Nigerian border.
Bell Benin will be the country’s third mobile operator.
