TOKYO—NTT DoCoMo Inc. said it halted sales of the Mova R211i mobile phone because of a technical problem. Due to a software bug, the incoming and outgoing call logs, voice messages and voice memos are erased when the phone’s power is turned off after replaying a new voice message.
Other data, such as stored numbers, i-mode mail and downloaded data, are not affected, the carrier said. The phones will be replaced free.
About 7,400 of the phones are in circulation in Japan.
