BEDMINSTER, N.J.—Verizon Wireless and LG Mobile Phones introduced the new Verizon Wireless VX1 a small, lightweight, tri-mode digital wireless phone.
The new phone, designed by LG Mobile Phones, includes voice and data capabilities and can work with a laptop as a modem to access Verizon Wireless’ Express Network, the carrier’s high-speed wireless data network.
“Our customers have told us they want the latest technology, the fastest access possible and a range of equipment options to support their wireless service choices,” said John Stratton, vice president and chief marketing officer of Verizon Wireless. “The Verizon Wireless VX1 by LG Mobile Phones is a true next-generation device that meets those needs.”
The phone is available now from Verizon Wireless for $200 with a two-year service agreement, and in order to access Express Network from the VX1, customers also need to purchase Mobile Office data connectivity kit for an additional $80.
