Summus aims for cash flow positive next year

RALEIGH, N.C.—Information delivery and application developer Summus Inc. announced broad and ambitious goals for the next 18 months, including plans to be cash flow positive early next year and to sign deals with all the major U.S. wireless carriers shortly thereafter.

Summus said it expects gross revenues of $8 million by the end of this year, and gross revenues of $100 next year. The company said it expects to deploy its Exego multimedia messaging platform with several major carriers by the end of this year. The company recently partnered with Verizon Wireless for a BREW-capable version of its Exego platform.

Summus said it expects to offer its Exego service for free at first, then, once the service is “broadly available,” the company said it will charge $10 per month, and will retain a majority of those revenues after sharing some with its carrier partners.
