REDWOOD CITY, California, United States—Openwave Systems announced it will expand its highly successful relationship with J-Phone in Japan by creating a new service for subscribers to send short video clips with messages using their photo-capable mobile phones.
The service will be an expansion of J-Phone’s massively popular picture messaging service, which includes Openwave technology and mobile phones with digital cameras. J-Phone said it sold 3 million camera-enabled phones last year.
Openwave said the new service will allow J-Phone subscribers to attach short movie clips to their wireless e-mails.
