CHICAGO—U.S. Cellular Corp. selected PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P. to replace Arthur Andersen L.L.P. as the carrier’s independent public accountant for this year.
Nextel Partners Inc. and UbiquiTel Inc. announced earlier this week that they also are replacing Arthur Andersen as their public accountants. Nextel Partners named KPMG L.L.P. as its new accountant, while UbiquiTel went with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Arthur Andersen has been losing clients since its involvement in the Enron bankruptcy scandal surfaced last year.
