DALLAS—Widcomm Inc. and Texas Instruments Inc. unveiled a Bluetooth USB dongle reference design allowing wireless connectivity between a personal computer and peripherals without the need for software installation and configuration.
The companies said the reference design supports up to 7 piconet links and up to 3 simultaneous synchronous connection-oriented voice channels. A dongle based on the reference design is expected to be available as an original equipment manufacturer product during the third quarter at less than $20 in volume quantities.
