BOSTON—In the aftermath of the Hewlett-Packard Co. and Compaq Corp. merger, Chief Executive Carly Fiorina said the company expects to slash 10,000 positions by Nov. 1 and 5,000 more in 2003.
She added that the new company will save $500 million at the end of this year and $2.5 billion at the end of the fiscal 2003.
