AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands—Cambridge Silicon Radio launched a ready-engineered example of a Bluetooth headset, which the company said would make it quicker for companies to produce their own lower cost headsets using its BlueCore technology.
CSR said the design is focused on reducing both costs and power consumption, has a low component count and does not require a host microcontroller. Instead it runs the headset firmware directly on the Bluetooth chip.
