WASHINGTON—AT&T Wireless has agreed to make a $100,000 “voluntary” contribution to the U.S. Treasury in exchange for the Federal Communications Commission ending its investigation into whether the carrier violated rules for implementing enhanced 911 services on its TDMA network.
AT&T Wireless said the deal will allow it to continue its planned deployment of E911 services on its TDMA network, though it could be subject to further fines if it fails to meet implementation timelines set forth in the agreement.
