BOCA RATON, Fla.-Wireless messaging company Esemde Inc. and Koala International Wireless Inc. announced they have dropped plans for Koala to acquire Esemde.
“It was mutually agreed that both companies should adhere to their respective original corporate intentions and business plans,” said Stephen Dye, Esemde’s president and chief executive officer. “Esemde’s goal will be to serve Koala as a customer in the future by offering our Unique Virtual Carrier service to them and their users.”
Koala, which has recently acquired several companies, is working to create a virtual network and applications platform to provide network server-based data, voice and media communications, e-banking, entertainment, information and service applications directly to subscribers using a Koala portable, handheld device.
