CHELMSFORD, Mass.-Mercury Computer Systems said it has been chosen by the U.S. military’s Joint Tactical Radio Systems (JTRS) Joint Program Office (JPO) to serve as a consultant on development of the JTRS program.
The JTRS Program is being enacted to develop a line of software-defined radios with a common Software Communications Architecture (SCA) that will enable interoperability with coalition partners and between branches of the U.S. military. Specifically, Mercury said it will help shape a worldwide standard SCA; create Object Management Group specification for future SCA revision; and support verification of software radio applications to comply with the architecture.
Mercury said the consulting project is valued at more than $1 million over a three-year period that began spring 2002.
