TOKYO-NTT DoCoMo will set up a demonstration room for FOMA in the New York office of AT&T Wireless in the fourth quarter. Visitors of the demonstration room near Central Park will be able to experience 384 kilobits per second (kbps) data transmission service, television telephony service, i-mode and i-motion services free.
NTT DoCoMo holds about 16 percent of AT&T Wireless, and the two carriers are planning to jointly launch third-generation (3G) services in the United States. NTT DoCoMo plans to open a similar demonstration room for FOMA in Hague, the Netherlands, where KPN Mobile has launched i-mode services.
