SAN JOSE, California, United States-Globalstar said it reduced prices by up to 75 percent for its registered users in Canada. The announcement comes one week after the mobile satellite services provider announced similar price reductions in the United States and the Caribbean.
Under the new pricing plans, calls can be made from nearly anywhere in Canada for as low as 32 Canadian cents (21 U.S. cents) with no long-distance charges for calls to anywhere in Canada and most U.S. locations. Handset prices have been reduced to C$995 (US$638).
