Japan’s Kyocera believes in Chinese market

BEIJING-Kyocera President Yasuo Nishiguchi launched a new CDMA handset in China, produced by the Kyocera Zhenhua Communication Equipment Company, based in China’s southwest Guizhou province. The company is a joint venture between Japan’s Kyocera and China’s Zhenhua Group established last December.

The China Daily reported that Kyocera Zhenhua has a capacity of 800,000 to 1.5 million units. Kyocera announced that revenue from its China operations could reach 110 billion yen (US$935 million) next year.

Nishiguchi said China will become the firm’s major manufacturing base and a critical market.
