AirNet receives $1.5M in expansion orders

MELBOURNE, Fla.-AirNet Communications Corp., developer of software-defined base station products for the wireless industry, announced it has received expansion orders totaling $1.5 million from Tecore Wireless Systems to be deployed in the Afghan Wireless mobile network.

The orders cover the purchase of AirNet’s Triple Capacity Digital AirSite Backhaul Free base station, called Trip Cap, as well as installation and commissioning services.

Since March of 2002, when TECORE placed $10 million in orders with AirNet for deployment of an initial system in Afghanistan, wireless service has been implemented in Kabul, Herat and Mazar-i-Sharif, with other regional markets scheduled to be added later this year.
