BOSTON, United States-A new report from the Yankee Group reveals 50 percent of large U.S. enterprises have plans to implement a wireless solution by next year and offers guidance to companies on doing so.
The Yankee Group suggests companies planning to go wireless should start with a low-cost solution, like wireless e-mail, and then construct a gateway to take on more complex wireless initiatives.
“Enterprises should anticipate the full array of tomorrow’s wireless/mobile solutions before constructing a gateway,” said Adam Zawel, wireless/mobile enterprise and commerce director and author of the report. “If only one or two point solutions can provide value to the enterprise in the foreseeable future, an overarching gateway may not be worth the cost.”
