SILVER SPRING, Md.-Mobile communications services company IMC Inc. launched a GSM wireless network in Iceland through its subsidiary IMC Island ehf, and has already negotiated bilateral roaming agreements with more than 100 wireless network operators around the world under the Viking Wireless brand.
IMC said the launch fulfills the initial GSM license requirement in Iceland and activates the international roaming agreements.
Prior to the network launch, IMC’s wireless services subsidiary WorldCell was solely a reseller of wireless services through other carrier roaming solutions.
