SEATTLE-Virtual Wave announced it selected the Global Positioning System accessory by Airbiquity to deliver its new RoadStar GPS wireless location-based services system.
Using the service, consumers across North America can have access to roadside assistance, trip planning, reservation services, location-based directory assistance and e-mail based on their location.
“The device and RoadStar GPS service work with phones made by Nokia, the No. 1 handset manufacturer worldwide,” said George Naspo, vice president of sales and business development for Airbiquity. “And, because it is compatible with all wireless voice networks-no new cell phone service contracts are needed-customers can stay with the wireless carriers and calling plans that they trust.”
The RoadStar GPS service sells for $7 per month.
