Ericsson wins GSM contract in Sudan

HELSINKI, Finland-Ericsson said it won an expansion contract with Sudanese GSM operator Mobitel. Under the contract, Ericsson will install more than 100 base stations with an overall capacity of more than 400,000 subscribers.

Mobitel is jointly owned by fixed-line operator Sudatel and MSI Cellular Holdings and has 170,000 users. The network covers Khartoum and the country’s major cities.
