SEOUL, South Korea-Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Mitsubishi Electric Corp. have come together in a strategic alliance to develop camera chips for mobile applications for cellular phones, personal digital assistants and mobile PCs.
Under the terms of the deal, Samsung will design and manufacture a CMOS image sensor chip, while Mitsubishi will design and make image signal processor chips.
