CHICAGO-U.S. Cellular Corp., which is in the middle of overlaying its CDMA/TDMA network with cdma2000 1x technology, said it has begun testing Qualcomm Inc.’s BREW solution in Knoxville, Tenn.
The carrier said the test, which is scheduled to run through next January, will allow the approximately 300 participating customers to access e-mail, play games and use business productivity tools and provide U.S. Cellular with information on how to tailor its wireless data service to meet customer needs.
