WASHINGTON-The Senate last night passed cyber-security legislation, clearing the way for final approval by the House after Congress returns for a lame duck session later next month. The measure, crafted by the House Science Committee, authorizes nearly $1 billion over five years for new cyber-security research. Minor amendments were made to make language compatible with homeland security legislation.
Congress also passed another stop-gap funding bill to keep the Federal Communications Commission and other government agencies running until work on various spending bills is completed
