NEW YORK-Amid dramatic declines in revenues, Lucent Technologies Inc. significantly narrowed its losses during the fourth quarter and its fiscal year.
For the year, the embattled Murray Hill, N.J., telecom equipment vendor earned revenues of $12.32 billion, compared with $21.29 billion during 2001. Net losses declined to $11.75 billion from $16.19 billion, and losses per share dropped to $3.51 from $4.18.
The company reported third quarter revenues of $2.28 billion, down from $5.16 billion during 2001. The net loss was $2.81 billion, down from $8.8 billion, and loss per share was 84 cents, down from $2.16.
