INDIANAPOLIS-Brightpoint Inc. said it has completed the sale of certain operating assets of Brightpoint Mexico to Soluciones Inteligentes para el Mercado Mobile S.A. de C.V., which is wholly owned and operated by Brightstar.
Brightpoint received cash considerations totaling $1.7 million and a promissory note for $1.1 million that matures this December.
Brightpoint said it will record a fourth-quarter loss between $4.5 million and $5 million relating to the sale. The company plans to liquidate remaining assets and liabilities of its Mexican operations during the fourth quarter 2002.
