World Data Consortium takes over Comsat in Latin America

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina-After having invested around US$600 million in Latin America, the major share of Comsat International has changed hands.

World Data Consortium, the investment fund with headquarters in Washington, concluded the acquisition of the telecommunications company and now controls 81 percent of the stock. Lockheed Martin will maintain 19 percent of Comsat International, although the exact figures of the transaction have not been made public. As from now, World Data Consortium changes to Comsat International Holdings (CIH).
