Ntelos reports higher revenues

WAYNESBORO, Va.-Ntelos Inc. reported $40.7 million in wireless revenues for the third quarter, a 27.5-percent increase from the $32 million the telecommunications provider reported for the third quarter of 2001. The increase was split evenly between increases in service, roaming and equipment revenues.

Ntelos said it added 13,043 net wireless customers during the quarter, which was more than double the 5,171 customers it added the previous year. The increase in customer additions came despite an increase in customer churn from 3.94 percent to 4.49 percent.

Average revenue per user increased from $45.15 last year to $45.99 this year while the cost per gross addition increased from $316 to $373.
