DENVER-Qwest Communications International Inc. closed 17 of its wireless retail outlets in six states that the company claimed were unprofitable, according to the Associated Press.
Qwest Wireless, which had a maximum of 23 retail outlets in the 14 states where it offers service, said only a small percentage of sales were made through its retail stores and would focus more attention on Web and telesales.
