BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Verizon Wireless Inc. signed a multi-year technology licensing agreement with HeyAnita Inc. to support Verizon Wireless’ Voice Gear suite of voice-enabled services including voice-activated dialing, voice browsing and corporate e-mail browsing. The HeyAnita service uses Nuance’s automatic speech recognition software and Rhetorical’s text-to-speech software.
The Corporate Email Reader service, which allows users to listen and manage corporate e-mail on their handset, is available to Verizon Wireless business accounts for $10 per month. The Voice Activated Dialing and Voice Browsing services are available to both business and consumer subscribers for $5 each per month or as a bundled package for $9 per month.
