NEW YORK-Amdocs Ltd., St. Louis, a major provider of billing and customer care systems and services to telecommunications carriers, said Nov. 27 it would eliminate 400 staff positions out of its 9,000-employee workforce.
The reductions are planned for various company locations worldwide and are part of other cost-cutting measures, including cutting travel expenses.
“We have reviewed our operations very carefully in order to maximize efficiency while not compromising service to our customers,” said Dov Baharav, chief executive officer of Amdocs Management Ltd.
“With our commitment to shareholder value, our objective is to ensure profitability levels in a very competitive market.”
