IT suffers worst decline ever

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.-IDC Corp. said the worldwide IT industry suffered its worst decline ever with growth dropping 2.3 percent, although it expects a growth rate of more than five percent amounting to $875 billion dollar in 2003.

“This is in sharp contrast to the average annual growth rate of 12 percent enjoyed by the industry over the past 20 years,” said John Gantz, chief research officer at IDC.
